On Sunday I stopped in Stuttgart to visit my friends Frank (aka Franzl) and Marlene. I have met Frank more than 11 years ago when he joined our team at IDS Scheer Inc. in Philadelphia. They moved back to Germany about 5 years ago and now live in Ditzingen (close to Stuttgart) with their two kids. In the afternoon we went to a "Dorffest" (kind of a street fair in a small village, typically all the local sports and cultural clubs operate stands, sell food and drinks etc.)
in Moegglingen. In the evening we decided not to watch the soccer world cup final, but to enjoy the great weather and some good wine outside in their back yard. Well .... we actually saw the penalty shoot out. Although it was just a brief visit it was great to see them again.
