Boca Juniors and River Plate are two rival clubs in Buenos Aires. In the past River was more dominant, however in the most recent years Boca has one more championships. Before the game Boca was in 1st place, River in 2nd with 4 points behind. The stadium was packed with mostly River fans and only one small section of Boca fans, however those few made quite some noise.
Impressions of the stadium. Unfortunately we had all these banners in front of us since we were right smack in the middle of the River fans.
This photos doesn't do the atmosphere any real justice .... The noise was almost unbearable ....
In the whole stadium fireworks (or should I call them bombs?) went off .... how did they get them past security?
I wish I would have been this close to get this shot ..... the game was pretty intense .... lots of little fights amnongst the players, some rough game at timess.
The end of the game .... the River Plate team celebrating the victory. The fans were singing for hours and hours ....
