Let me simply say that seeing the Perito Moreno Glacier was one of the most amazing views I have ever hard. It is very difficult to explain the magnitude, the pictures do not even come close. However I would like to describe it glacier by a sequence of shots that document a hug piece of ice breaking of the glacier front and dropping into the water. Creating an enormous roar and huge waves.

At first there was just glacier we were looking at .... we (Maren from Germany, Georgina from Argentina, a guy from Israel and myself) had lunch at the observation platform for and waited for something to happen ....

The we hear some noise and noticed a small crack had build at the front of the glacier.

Well, we thought let's take a photo while we are waiting. We just got this done, when suddenly we heard this enormous creaking noise behind us .... we turned around just in time ....

The crack widened and slowly a huge piece of ice started to drop down towards the water.

Falling down and down, splashing in the water with a big roar ....

... creating big waves below the observation deck. It was amazing and I was happy as a little kid that I somewhat was able to capture it all with photos.

Just to get a feel for the size I took this shot. At the front the glacier is 30 m high above the water level, at the top it is several hundred meters deep and kilometers wide.

Just because you have seen so much ice I thought some yellow flowers and green grass might be nice.
