On the second day we were woken up by .... yes .... an announcement at 6:00 am that we would reach a small fishing village for a quick excursion soon. No matter if you wanted to go or not the night was over. We had had quite a bit of beer and wine the night before and went to bed rather late, but what better to fight a hangover than to walk in fresh sea air?

A small village of about 200 people, primarily living off fishing (but I have no idea to whom they are selling the fish, the next city is a long way to go.

We paid $ 5 to be picked up in these small fishing boats and transported over to the "harbor". The ferry was to big to get closer to the shore.

Our "captain" navigating us to the landing dock.

Another boat arriving ....

There were lots of abandoned vessel. They just ground them on the shore and time will do the rest.

Soon we went back to our ship and continued our tour. More narrow channels to Navigate and course a shot of the back of the vessel.

Announcements, announcements .... for several hours they have been issuing warnings that we will reach bad weather and rough seas by 4:00 pm. Everybody should be prepared and take sea sickness pills if necessary. At first I did not pay too much attention, but then I thought what the heck. It will not hurt and I did not want to be sea sick anyways. Taking a shot of the back shows there are more whitecaps, slowly we reached open waters, the wind picked up and the waves got bigger and bigger.

So much about blue skies and sunshine. This photo does not really represent what was going on. The ship was moving up and down by more than 10 meters at this point already. I tried to take my "shot from the back of the vessel" photo, but the movements were so bad that I though it to be too risky. I was wondering how the night might turn out.
It got actually worse and worse by the hour. At dinner there was only half the people and later in the bar there was only a few of us. We actually started drinking wine and stayed up pretty late, since we figured that we would not be able to sleep with all the moving around. My room mate Lynn did not fare as well, she was not a happy camper. Finally around 1:00 am I went into my bunk and tried sleeping, but it felt more like "Disney World", up ...down ... left .... back ...right .... up .... like a giant roller coaster. Not sure how, but I fell asleep and actually felt refreshed when I got up. The sea was not any calmer and so breakfast was a challenge.
